About me ...
I obtained my bachelor's degree in psychology in 1994, my master's degree in social work in 2000, and my Tennessee license in 2003. I have been in private practice since 2004.
I approach psychotherapy and counseling as a unique kind of learning environment. My role as a therapist is to be a listener, a teacher, a guide, a facilitator, an advocate and a fellow-student. I learn with clients and support them on their journeys from despair to hope, from confusion to clarity, from fear to courage and from shame to worthiness. I believe that thoughts, feelings, behaviors and belief systems can change, leading to significant growth and healing.
I understand that seeking help and asking for support often feels very vulnerable and can be extremely difficult. But vulnerability is not weakness. Vulnerability is courage and opens space for authentic growth and change to happen.
